Dear members and friends of VAPS,

VAPS is excited to announce the theme for our 2016 Conference, "Goodness and Wisdom: Philosophy as Capability", inspired by the new Victorian Foundation to Year 10 curriculum for Capabilities, especially Ethical and Critical and Creative Thinking.

The VAPS Conference Organising Committee is in the process of constructing a programme that addresses various themes: Primary school philosophy, Middle and Senior (VCE) philosophy, Community of Inquiry methodology, the role of philosophy in the implementation of the Victorian Curriculum F –  Y10 Capabilities and other pedagogical concerns or interests in regards to the practice of philosophy in schools.

The Conference aims to inspire and engage attendees with practical, rigorous and engrossing discussions about our practice and profession, and seeks to provide support for current and potential educators of philosophy as well as those who use the Community of Inquiry methodology in schools.
